About the position

The Operator I position is responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. This role involves performing assembly, repair, and test operations on medical devices such as pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) under close supervision. The operator will ensure that all job documentation is accurate and up to date, communicate effectively with management, and maintain a positive attitude while adhering to safety guidelines. Participation in continuous improvement initiatives is also expected to enhance production processes and achieve quality metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, repair, and test operations on medical devices under close supervision.
  • Ensure job documentation for cell operations is accurate and up to date.
  • Communicate ideas, problems, and solutions to manufacturing management in both written and oral form.
  • Follow safety guidelines and utilize appropriate safety devices during operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure traceability of parts and address quality issues.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager to set and monitor individual goals and cell performance metrics.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Experience in assembly and testing of medical devices.
  • Basic computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Mechanical aptitude with good hand/eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and comprehend verbal instructions.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on sequencing and importance.
  • Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
  • Ability to make critical decisions with minimal supervision.
