About The Position

The Operator / Plant Operator at BHE Renewables, LLC is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant and its process facilities. This role involves monitoring plant equipment, performing minor maintenance tasks, and assisting in the training of new crew members. The operator works with minimal supervision and is expected to adhere to safety and environmental policies while ensuring optimal plant performance.

Requirements

• Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence accurately.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts including percentages and volumes.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
• Effective ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Must have a valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and support all company safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures.
• Perform a variety of chemical analyses, including obtaining samples, performing the analysis, and interpreting the results.
• Inspect and monitor equipment to detect malfunctions and the need for repairs or adjustments.
• Read meters and gauges to verify plant-operating conditions and record data for control changes.
• Assist in the start-up, operation, and shutdown of all equipment, including turbines and alarms.
• Perform minor maintenance, housekeeping, and emergency repairs as needed.
• Accurately record and communicate daily operations and maintenance actions to the control operator.
• Conduct training for others in safety, equipment operations, and environmental procedures.
• Initiate work orders as needed and operate plant vehicles, forklifts, and personnel carts.
• Progress in the company-training program and assist others as required.
