About the position

The Warehouse/Freezer Operator is responsible for shipping, receiving, and transporting packaging, ingredients, and finished goods within the facility. This role is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and safety in a cold environment, ensuring that all materials are handled according to established practices and regulations. The position operates on the 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Observe all safety rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment and material handling.
  • Follow all established Good Manufacturing Practices, maintaining an orderly and clean work area.
  • Maintain forklifts by daily inspecting batteries, water levels, lights, horn, tires, mirrors, oil levels, and backup beep indicators.
  • Verify all deliveries and discrepancies by inspecting materials through physically counting and comparing the amount printed on the delivery receipt.
  • Enter necessary documentation of delivery receipts or material handling into the company's computer system.
  • Organize and rotate old materials with new.
  • Perform daily housekeeping by removing or fixing any dirty, torn, hanging, or broken materials.
  • Assist management with inventory balances through physical cycle counts.
  • Label any open or partial ingredient and packaging.
  • Check production schedules daily to stage packaging and ingredients as needed.
  • Perform all other warehouse and freezer duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must read, write, and speak English.
  • Must possess basic math and computer skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • One year or more material handling experience.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Be able to regularly stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience operating forklift equipment (preference given to experienced operators).
  • Trained and recertified annually for forklift license.
