About the position

The Operator Tech position is responsible for ensuring the proper, safe, and efficient operation of equipment to achieve neat and accurate packaging of finished products. This role involves maintaining a clean work environment, assisting machine operators, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment while performing job duties.
• Set up Gaylord boxes and mark tares correctly, ensuring a sufficient amount is available to meet production demands.
• Inspect each Gaylord box and liner prior to filling to ensure cleanliness and suitability for use.
• Weigh and package material correctly with neat and legible labels on each package.
• Assist the machine operator during start-up and shut-down processes.
• Monitor vacuum chambers and finished products from the station, notifying the shift supervisor of any concerns at coolers.
• Handle and store all finished products properly and efficiently, including bulk materials.
• Keep the area and tools neat, clean, and properly stored.
• Break open, disassemble, clean, and reassemble coolers properly, being responsible for all cleaning during the shift.
• Stack all packages neatly, even in temporary storage.
• Complete any tasks assigned by the production foreman with a company-oriented attitude.
• Understand and follow all Safety, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 established procedures.
• Be flexible with shift schedules and willing to work overtime as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Score Silver or above on WorkKeys test.
• Certified Forklift License and prior forklift experience preferred.
