About the position
The Operator 1 position at Smith Industrial Services involves transporting, setting up, and providing operational support for industrial cleaning services. The role requires the operation, maintenance, and repair of high-pressure water blasting and industrial vacuuming equipment, ensuring the safe removal and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in heavy industrial settings. Operators are also responsible for general labor activities associated with industrial cleaning, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Transport and perform setup for industrial cleaning services.
- Operate, maintain, and repair high-pressure water blasting equipment.
- Perform wet and dry vacuum truck operations.
- Conduct Hydroblasting Services, including advanced Lance/Shotgun operation.
- Operate hydraulic pumps and jetter trucks.
- Load and unload equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Perform general maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Clean vehicles, trucks, and equipment.
- Follow safety procedures including lock-out tag out and confined space entry.
- Report potential issues to the Industrial Manager/Branch Manager.
- Ensure tasks are performed safely and with high quality.
- Arrive on time and ready to work, adhering to company policies.
Requirements
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Must possess a valid TWIC Card certification.
- 1 year of technician experience is required.
- Must complete all required safety-related training.
- Ability to communicate effectively with crew and division personnel.
- Ability to operate industrial hydro-blasting and vacuum equipment.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights.
- Must be able to lift and carry 75-100 pounds.
