About the position

The Operator position at Lilly is integral to the Bioprocess Research & Development (BR D) organization, specifically supporting the K360 clinical trial pilot plant (CTPP). The role involves various operational areas including makeup, inoculation lab, cell culture/primary recovery, and purification, focusing on the preparation and management of buffers, media, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). The Operator is expected to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while effectively communicating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor process equipment and related systems according to approved procedures.
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise and identify trends to reduce process variability.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records of operations, ensuring compliance with cGMP practices.
  • Communicate effectively with Quality Team members, scientists, and other personnel regarding technical information.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental guidelines, promoting compliance in all areas.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in relevant areas (makeup, inoculation, MCC, purification) or a 2-year degree in biotechnology.
  • Strong background in cGMP, with experience in a regulated environment.
  • Experience executing manufacturing tickets and completing engineering protocols using Word and Excel.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with various groups including HSE, Quality Control, and Engineering.
  • Completion of Post Offer Exam or Work Simulation if applicable.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years' experience in relevant areas (makeup, inoculation, MCC, purification).
  • Experience with computer systems such as SAP, Regulus/Syncade, Trackwise, Discoverant, and LIMS Systems.
  • Experience operating process control systems (DeltaV, Unicorn) and using process historians (PI, Unicorn).
  • General interpersonal and communication skills, including coaching and training abilities.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
