About the position

Northwest Eye Surgeons is seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join their progressive ophthalmic medical and surgical practice. The role involves providing outstanding patient care in a team-oriented clinical environment, ensuring accurate documentation of ocular examinations, and assisting Ophthalmologists with various clinical functions. The technician will play a crucial role in maintaining patient flow, administering eye medications, and supporting in-office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Quickly and accurately summarizes and documents what the Ophthalmologist says during an examination.
• Maintains an awareness of the patient's communication when the Ophthalmologist is providing instructions.
• Ensures the patient understands all instructions.
• Take and document patients' medical histories.
• Operates ophthalmic equipment.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipment.
• Assist patients in inserting or removing contact lenses.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year experience as an ophthalmic assistant, experienced COA or COT preferred.
• Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office products, G-suite environments.
• Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, and ability to convey ideas and information verbally and in writing.
• Professional appearance, strong interpersonal skills, and patient confidentiality.
• A strong organization with an attention to detail.
