About the position

The Ophthalmology Practice Manager will oversee the daily operations of a thriving ophthalmology practice, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care. This role requires strong healthcare management skills, particularly in ophthalmology, and involves leadership, staff management, financial oversight, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the ophthalmology practice, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Implement and optimize office policies and procedures to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise administrative and clinical staff, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and ensure timely and accurate billing and coding processes.
  • Address patient concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally, maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction.
  • Monitor financial performance metrics and prepare budgets in collaboration with senior management.
  • Oversee billing, collections, and accounts receivable to maximize revenue and minimize delinquencies.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to enhance clinical outcomes and patient safety.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Evaluate and implement electronic health records (EHR) and other technological advancements to improve operational efficiency and patient care delivery.
  • Collaborate with physicians and senior management to develop strategic goals and initiatives for practice growth and development.
  • Analyze market trends and competition to identify opportunities for business expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare management, with specific experience in ophthalmology preferred.
