About the position
The Ophthalmology Practice Manager will oversee the daily operations of a thriving ophthalmology practice, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care. This role requires strong healthcare management skills, particularly in ophthalmology, and involves leadership, staff management, financial oversight, and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the ophthalmology practice, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
- Implement and optimize office policies and procedures to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Recruit, train, and supervise administrative and clinical staff, fostering a positive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and ensure timely and accurate billing and coding processes.
- Address patient concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally, maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction.
- Monitor financial performance metrics and prepare budgets in collaboration with senior management.
- Oversee billing, collections, and accounts receivable to maximize revenue and minimize delinquencies.
- Implement quality assurance measures to enhance clinical outcomes and patient safety.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Evaluate and implement electronic health records (EHR) and other technological advancements to improve operational efficiency and patient care delivery.
- Collaborate with physicians and senior management to develop strategic goals and initiatives for practice growth and development.
- Analyze market trends and competition to identify opportunities for business expansion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare management, with specific experience in ophthalmology preferred.
