About the position

The OPS Operations Review Specialist is a temporary position within the Florida Department of Health, primarily focused on providing service delivery activities related to the USDA Child Care Food Program. The role involves conducting audits, evaluating budgets, providing technical assistance, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The incumbent will work independently and exercise professional judgment in reviewing financial statements and providing training to sponsoring organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct desk audits of sponsoring organizations' bank account activity and expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Evaluate and approve or deny budgets and amendments for sponsoring organizations.
  • Provide technical assistance, consultation, and training regarding program regulations and policies.
  • Review bank account activity for institutions applying for the Child Care Food Program to ensure financial viability.
  • Analyze MIPS reports and provide guidance to organizations regarding fiscal compliance issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of federal and state Child and Adult Care Food Program regulations and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and Access.

Nice-to-haves

  • A master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • Professional experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or auditing.
