About the position

The role involves developing data-based systems and operations research tools to enhance decision-making processes and drive digital transformation within the NPI capacity team at Apple. The position requires collaboration with technical teams and focuses on migrating data to a data warehouse, setting up data pipelines, and creating cloud-based dashboards for factory-related data access. Additionally, the role includes developing optimization models to address manufacturing capacity challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data-based systems and operations research tools to advance decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with technical teams for project management, dedicating 20% of time to this effort.
  • Migrate historical data from spreadsheets and emails to a data warehouse.
  • Set up data pipelines for ongoing data collection and organization.
  • Provide cloud-based dashboards for easy access to factory-related data across the organization.
  • Develop optimization models to solve manufacturing capacity-related problems, including sourcing, material allocation, and line planning.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of industry experience.
  • Proficiency in scripting with Python.
  • Experience with data warehousing, specifically Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, particularly Tableau.
  • Familiarity with optimization and mixed integer programming using Gurobi.
  • Experience in developing web applications using iPywidgets and Voila.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Operations, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
