About the position

The Optical Assistant at SIGHT Eyewear is a full-time role focused on providing exceptional patient care and support within a collaborative healthcare environment. The position emphasizes individualized care, ensuring that both patients and employees have a positive experience. The Optical Assistant will engage in various tasks related to patient care, including performing diagnostic tests, managing patient records, and educating patients about products and services offered.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable in ophthalmic assisting procedures and able to answer questions and address concerns in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Performs all duties of an Optical Assistant as directed by a provider or Leadership including checking visions, intraocular pressures, and finding patient's glasses prescriptions.
  • Takes medical history from patients and assists in training and guidance of new assistants.
  • Performs various diagnostic tests and checks patients in and out post-visit.
  • Educates patients on products sold in-house and contributes to team meetings and presentations as needed.
  • Maintains punctuality and adheres to scheduled times of arrival and departure from work.
  • Monitors productivity and updates methods to maintain efficiency and quality service to patients.
  • Complies with all practice procedures and protocols, as well as state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Medical office experience (preferred)
  • Ability to work well with others
