Optical Lab Technician

About the position

The Optical Lab Technician will be responsible for operating the lab to cut, edge, and inspect glasses and optical lenses, ensuring high-quality eyewear for patients. This role involves maintaining optical equipment, managing inventory, and educating patients on eyewear care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and calibrate optical equipment
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage
• Manage inventory of eyeglass frames and contact lenses
• Process orders for eyewear and verify prescription accuracy

Requirements

• Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology
• Familiarity with optical systems and equipment
• Experience in medical coding and billing is a plus
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues
