About the position

The candidate will utilize numerical simulation tools to model optical transmission performance, develop engineering rules for DWDM products, and assess architectural alternatives during product development. Additionally, the role includes analyzing performance testing results to ensure product specifications are met and collaborating with various teams throughout the development process.

Responsibilities

  • Design dense WDM optical networks.
  • Utilize numerical simulation tools to model optical transmission performance.
  • Develop engineering rules for DWDM products.
  • Assess architectural alternatives during product development.
  • Apply simulation tools to specific network designs based on customer requests.
  • Analyze performance testing results of DWDM systems and subsystems.
  • Ensure products meet specifications and engineering rules.
  • Verify the accuracy of simulation models.
  • Collaborate with development teams, customer teams, and product management.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master's degree in optics, physics, or electrical engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in optical transmission system design.
  • Experience with numerical simulation and testing of fiber-optic systems.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
