About the position

The Optical Sales - Manager in Training position at Stanton Optical/My EyeLab is designed to provide excellent customer service and assist patients with their eyewear needs. Under the direct supervision of leadership, the role involves greeting customers, assisting with eyewear purchases, and ensuring a positive customer experience while meeting sales goals. The Manager in Training will also be responsible for dispensing eyewear according to optical prescriptions and maintaining store standards.

Responsibilities

• Greet all patients and customers as they enter the store and provide promotional information.
• Attain sales goals established by the management team while complying with company policies.
• Assist patients and customers in choosing frames that fit their budgetary requirements.
• Resolve customer complaints and provide solutions to remedy situations.
• Troubleshoot and identify problems related to prescriptions.
• Complete inventory counts and replenish stock as necessary.
• Adhere to quality control standards including OSHA and other safety requirements.
• Answer phones according to company guidelines.
• Make minor repairs to eyewear.
• Perform basic housekeeping duties such as cleaning and organizing frame cases.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of experience in optical sales or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Google Docs, etc.
• Ability to interact successfully with both internal and external customers at all levels.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and be flexible with changing business needs in a team environment.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with a diverse group.

Nice-to-haves

• Retail sales experience (1 year preferred).
• Knowledge of Spanish (preferred).
