About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician/Optical Assistant to support the daily operations of our optical practice. This part-time role involves assisting patients with eyewear selection, managing patient records, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with eyewear selection and fittings, ensuring optimal comfort and style.
• Order glasses and contact lenses via insurance portals or directly with the lab.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Operate optical systems and equipment, including the Crystal Practice Management system for patient management.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage.
• Collaborate with the optometrist to facilitate patient care.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the optical area, adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Utilize retail math skills to assist in inventory management and sales tracking.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an optical or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with optometry practices is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
