About the position
Shore Optical is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Optician to join their team in Galloway, NJ. This position is initially part-time with the potential to transition to full-time. The ideal candidate will be licensed in NJ or an apprentice and will assist patients with eyewear selection and fitting, ensuring exceptional customer service in a friendly environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with frame selection and fitting
- Provide guidance on lens options and enhancements
- Perform adjustments and repairs on eyewear
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with optometrists/ophthalmologists and other staff to deliver outstanding patient care
- Stay updated on industry trends and product knowledge
Requirements
- Previous experience as an optician preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of optical products and eyewear fitting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours during the week
- Certification or licensure as required by state regulations
