About the position

KLA is seeking high-energy interns for exciting projects in Ann Arbor, Michigan, focusing on the semiconductor industry. This internship offers a unique opportunity to engage in engineering work, specifically in developing opto-mechanical sub-components for KLA's inspection tools. Interns will collaborate with engineers from various fields, gaining hands-on experience in designing, modeling, and documenting optical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering work to develop opto-mechanical sub-components for KLA's inspection tools.
• Design, model, and document optical systems.
• Collaborate with engineers from electrical engineering, optical engineering, and computer science.
• Use CAD and optical ray-tracing packages for project tasks.
• Set up and align opto-mechanical sub-assemblies in a laboratory environment.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a graduate program in Optics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of opto-mechanical fundamentals and optics classes taken.
• Strong analytical capabilities and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
