About The Position
The position involves ensuring high quality patient care in a doctor's office setting. The role requires maintaining a professional atmosphere and appearance in both the doctor's office and the pretest room. The individual will need to understand ocular terminology and diseases, as well as the relevant ocular abbreviations. Responsibilities include explaining the types of preliminary examinations to patients, completing necessary paperwork, and performing testing on patients prior to the doctor's examination. Additionally, the role involves promoting visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients, performing exam pre-screening, and reviewing prescriptions and patient information to identify special needs. Consultation with the optician, doctor, or retail management may be necessary when special needs are identified. The individual will also be responsible for ensuring that both the doctor's and pre-test equipment are properly maintained.
