About the position

The Optometric Technician Team Lead at Complete Eye Care is responsible for ensuring that patients receive high-quality care while assisting the optometrist in various patient care activities. This role emphasizes excellent customer service, effective communication, and teamwork to create a flawless patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the optometrist in patient care activities.
  • Pre-screen patients and administer diagnostic tests.
  • Gather and document patient's medical history.
  • Communicate effectively with doctors, staff, and patients.
  • Answer phone calls, greet patients, and schedule appointments.
  • Educate patients on insurance coverage and vision benefits.
  • Train patients on proper contact lens use and care.
  • Obtain insurance authorizations and verify benefits.
  • Accurately post charges for exam fees and products sold.
  • Document optometry exams and procedures accurately.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow.
  • Mentor, coach, and train other team members.
  • Serve as a role model for excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an Optometric Technician.
  • CPO & CPOA certification required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math tasks.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Passion for self-improvement and continuing education.
  • Flexibility to accommodate schedule changes on short notice.
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience as an Optometric Technician.
  • Previous experience with electronic medical records preferred.
