About the position

MRG Exams is seeking a part-time Optometrist to conduct comprehensive eye exams for United States Veterans as part of the VA's SHA process. This role focuses on assessments rather than treatment, with the Optometrist responsible for reviewing medical health records and performing eye exams, while submitting completed forms through a secure Web Portal. The position involves assessing 3-6 Veterans per day and is structured as a 1099 Independent Contractor role, requiring availability for one day per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams on Veterans.
• Review medical health records through a secure Web Portal.
• Complete forms and submit them within 24 hours after an exam.
• Assess 3-6 Veterans per day on average.

Requirements

• Must hold a current license as an Optometrist in the State where exams are performed.
• Ability to perform Visual Field Testing (VFT).
• Meets the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Interest in performing comprehensive eye exam assessments rather than traditional patient care.
