Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based vision care by recommending and prescribing medications and treatment options.
  • Deliver routine vision care and educate patients and store associates on eye health.
  • Consult with other health professionals to prepare and coordinate patient care plans.
  • Evaluate patients' health conditions and perform comprehensive eye examinations.
  • Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.
  • Develop treatment plans based on patients' clinical presentations using evidence-based care guidelines.
  • Represent the company in vision care and patient engagement by delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain and update patient information in vision center systems in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Assist vision center staff on best practices and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to state, local, and federal healthcare regulations and Walmart vision center guidelines.
  • Analyze business objectives and customer needs to develop and implement business strategies.
  • Recruit, select, and develop talent to maintain a skilled workforce.
  • Cultivate an environment of integrity and ethics among associates.
  • Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships to achieve business goals.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
  • Licensed optometrist in good standing in the state of practice.
