About the position

Optum CA is seeking a licensed Optometrist to join our team in Redlands, CA. This role is integral to the Optum Care Delivery team, focusing on providing high-quality optometric care to patients of all ages. The Optometrist will utilize state-of-the-art examination equipment and advanced medical testing units to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans, contributing to the overall health of the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care by conducting all services in accordance with protocols and accepted standards
• Ensure that patients receive accurate diagnoses and appropriate recommendations that address all of their needs for healthy vision
• Establish positive doctor-patient relationships while under pressure in a fast-paced, high volume environment
• Communicate effectively with medical technicians and office staff to ensure a seamless patient experience
• Examine patients' eyes to determine the nature and degree of vision problems or eye disease, and prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or procedures
• Perform pre- and post-op exams for cataract surgery patients
• Consult with and refer patients to an ophthalmologist when specialized treatment is necessary

Requirements

• Doctor of optometry (OD) degree
• Current licensure in good standing
• Knowledge of latest advancements in optometric theory and technology
