About the position
The Operating Room Manager at USPI Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Greater Heights is responsible for overseeing and coordinating nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role involves managing the perioperative services department, ensuring quality patient care, and supporting the organization's mission and values. The manager will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate effective communication and operational management within the surgical environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise nursing care for patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures.
- Serve as a clinical resource for perioperative services staff using evidence-based knowledge.
- Evaluate current practices through quality and performance improvement measures.
- Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with the perioperative team and stakeholders.
- Manage change within the healthcare organization effectively.
- Participate in planning perioperative patient care as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Utilize conflict resolution techniques as needed.
- Operationally and fiscally manage the perioperative services department.
- Collect and analyze data relevant to perioperative services for collaboration with stakeholders.
- Participate in staff selection interviews and evaluate staff performance.
- Act as a role model of professional behavior.
- Assess the political climate within the organization.
- Pursue professional growth and participate in a professional organization.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Currently licensed in the state of Texas as an RN.
- CPR certification required; advanced life support certification required.
- One year of experience in an intra-operative setting is required.
- Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
- Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of the position.
