About the position
The OR Nurse - Procedure Room position involves working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment as part of an interdisciplinary team. The role focuses on providing specialized nursing care in the operating room, preparing for procedures, and assisting with post-procedure tasks. The nurse will serve various age groups and ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are ready for surgeries, contributing to the overall success of the Surgical Services team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare for each procedure by ensuring adequate stock and appropriate equipment is available.
- Assist with post-procedure workload, including cleaning the room between procedures and organizing supplies.
- Teach and supervise staff, serving as a resource and delegating tasks according to competency levels.
- Rotate to areas outside of the OR as needed, performing only duties for which competency has been demonstrated.
Requirements
- Valid RN License required.
- IV Certification required.
- 2 years of acute med/surg experience required.
- Experience with IV insertion and phlebotomy skills required.
- Conscious sedation experience required.
- AHA BLS certification required.
- AHA ACLS certification required.
