About the position

The OR Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting and coordinating daily activities related to the efficient management of operating room resources. This position involves managing communications within the OR Control Desk, scheduling urgent cases, and coordinating surgical case flow while ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders involved in the operating room process.

Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate daily activities for efficient management of operating room resources.
  • Manage communications within the OR Control Desk, including urgent case scheduling and prioritization.
  • Coordinate surgical case flow and dispatch support staff for various tasks.
  • Assist the OR Patient Flow Manager in managing communications between OR sites, physicians, staff, and anesthesia.
  • Document changes or requests as directed by OR Nursing Leadership.
  • Oversee case cart picking operations, auditing, and staging for surgical cases.
  • Communicate effectively with the nursing team regarding the status of case preparation.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a related field (Required).
  • 3 years of experience within perioperative services (Required).
  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred).
  • Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
