About the position

We are seeking dedicated nursing professionals to join our Operating Room (OR) team at Women & Infants Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment. As a Registered Nurse in the OR, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients undergoing surgical procedures, contributing to high-quality patient outcomes and supporting the surgical team throughout the perioperative process.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments prior to surgery, ensuring all necessary information is gathered and documented.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Assist in preparing the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during procedures, promptly addressing any changes or concerns.
• Provide post-operative care, including monitoring recovery progress and educating patients on post-surgical care requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of patient care activities, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Previous experience in an Operating Room setting is preferred but not required.
• Maintains CPR and any other credentialing or certification necessary, to be competent as a Registered Nurse in an area of specialty.
• Must be proficient in the English language.
