About the position

The Oracle Apps DBA position is a critical role within our IT infrastructure team, responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12 and Oracle Database. This position requires a deep understanding of database management principles and practices, ensuring optimal functionality, availability, and security of the database systems. The successful candidate will be tasked with applying patches and performing upgrades to Oracle EBS and databases, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to best practices. Additionally, the role involves implementing robust backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to safeguard data integrity and availability. Performance tuning is a key responsibility, where the DBA will diagnose and resolve performance issues at both the database and application levels, optimizing system performance to meet business needs. Advanced troubleshooting skills are essential, as the DBA will provide support for complex issues related to Oracle EBS and databases, often collaborating with other IT teams to resolve these challenges. Security management is also a significant aspect of this role, requiring the implementation and maintenance of database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing practices. Documentation is a vital part of the DBA's responsibilities, as they will create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database environments, processes, and procedures. Collaboration with application developers, system administrators, and other IT teams is crucial to support the overall IT infrastructure and ensure seamless operations across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12, Oracle Database, and related applications.
• Manage and monitor database performance, ensuring optimal functionality, availability, and security.
• Apply patches and perform upgrades for Oracle EBS and databases, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with best practices.
• Implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues at the database and application levels, optimizing system performance.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for Oracle EBS and databases, resolving complex issues and collaborating with other teams when necessary.
• Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database environments, processes, and procedures.
• Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other IT teams to support the overall IT infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Apps DBA, with hands-on experience in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database administration, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.
• Expertise in performance tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and onsite work.

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
