About the position

The Oracle CC&B Utilities Engineer is responsible for designing, documenting, and implementing new enterprise application solutions within the IT environment for the Utilities department. This role involves providing ongoing support and maintenance for existing and new software applications, troubleshooting infrastructure systems, and collaborating with cross-divisional teams to analyze complex problems. The engineer will also consult on security issues, develop software integrations, and ensure that technical specifications meet quality standards for systems development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, and implement new enterprise application solutions for the Utilities department.
  • Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancements to existing and new software applications.
  • Perform troubleshooting of infrastructure systems affecting application performance.
  • Create and maintain detailed application/program documentation.
  • Contribute to reviewing and implementing IT application-based policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional team members to perform root cause analysis of complex problems.
  • Consult with internal teams, management, and vendors to discuss security issues for projects and initiatives.
  • Work with vendors and business users to develop and implement software integrations.
  • Analyze users' business requirements in the development and modification of computer systems.
  • Coordinate and assist in planning and feasibility/requirements analysis for proposed systems.
  • Troubleshoot and implement solutions for non-enterprise applications.
  • Assist in writing technical specifications ensuring quality standards for systems development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years' experience with enterprise-level computer applications or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with Oracle-based applications, particularly Customer Care & Billing and Oracle Analytics Publisher.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Visio.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with process design, logical workflow analysis and design.
  • Experience with in-depth configuration, code, analysis, and output.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle and Oracle-based technologies.
  • Experience with Utilities in both support and processes.
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting problems and root cause analysis.
