About the position

The OCM Process Lead is a pivotal role within the Project Fortress Business Resource team at American Woodmark, one of the largest cabinet manufacturers in the nation. This position is integral to the company's journey of modernizing its ERP platforms, which aims to enhance the interaction of teams with processes, systems, and data, ultimately striving for a unified operational approach. The OCM Process Lead will work closely with a Process Specialist to spearhead digital transformation initiatives, ensuring that program objectives within the Organizational Change Management (OCM) function are met effectively. In this role, the OCM Process Lead will act as a change advocate, championing the OCM function and engaging with key end-user groups to facilitate smooth transitions. They will be responsible for the timely escalation of workstream issues and resource constraints, ensuring that program delivery remains on schedule. The position requires strong communication and coordination skills, as the OCM Process Lead will manage business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and highlight variations in business processes that need to be realigned with system constraints. The essential functions of this role include overseeing OCM and training activities for Project Fortress, providing input for the development of OCM strategies, aligning stakeholders with project goals, and collecting data to inform change interventions. The OCM Process Lead will also evaluate stakeholder readiness for change, activate a network of change champions, and recommend strategic changes that impact business direction. This position does not have any direct reports, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of OCM and training activities for Project Fortress leveraging designated tools to track such activities.
  • Provide input to the development of all OCM and training strategies.
  • Align key leaders and stakeholders to project goals and priorities.
  • Collect key data inputs and impacts to inform change interventions and identify activities required to drive and track business adoption of new ways of working.
  • Inform key stakeholders through integrated, targeted, and timely programmatic messaging for Project Fortress.
  • Develop, coordinate, review, and validate OCM deliverables.
  • Identify cross-workstream dependencies and proactively collaborate to obtain required inputs to OCM deliverables.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical SMEs to complete review cycles of OCM deliverables and present to Workstream lead for signoff.
  • Evaluate stakeholder readiness to facilitate change from 'current state' to 'desired state'.
  • Activate change champion network and coordinate regularly scheduled activities.
  • Proactively drive engagement with change champions and stakeholders to ensure successful execution of the change management plan.
  • Recommend and champion changes that impact strategic business direction.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of business experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and executing OCM plans, communication plans, and training plans, and coordinating and overseeing business process change and training activities.
  • Strong knowledge of functional area.
  • Ability to think and work strategically and tactically.
  • Strong Systems Thinking capabilities (upstream & downstream).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Change Management, or a related field.
