About The Position

The Oracle Database Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role involves managing and optimizing database systems, ensuring their performance, availability, and security in accordance with organizational requirements and government standards. The candidate will work with various database technologies including Oracle, DB2, Cassandra, and MongoDB, and will be responsible for providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior database administrators.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma (or GED) and 16 years of general experience; or an Associate's degree and 14 years of general experience; or a Bachelor's degree and 12 years of general experience; or a Master's degree and 10 years of general experience.
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in Oracle, DB2, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
  • Must have 3 years of experience in management or leadership roles.
  • Must have experience with WebLogic.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
  • Must have, or obtain within 60 days of start, a DoD IAT Level II certification (Security +).
  • Must have, or obtain within 90 days of start, an Oracle, DB2, Cassandra, or MongoDB certification.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Oracle, DB2, Cassandra, and MongoDB database systems.
  • Ensure the performance, availability, and security of database environments.
  • Manage database installation, configuration, and upgrades.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
  • Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and database performance.
  • Plan and execute backup and recovery strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database systems with business needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database administrators.
