About The Position
The Oracle Database Administrator position within the ITC department is a full-time role responsible for the installation, maintenance, and updating of Oracle Database software and Ellucian Banner software. This position plays a critical role in managing the user lifecycle for both Oracle and Banner systems, which includes creating, modifying, and terminating user accounts as necessary. The successful candidate will be expected to ensure the smooth operation of these systems, which are vital for the organization's data management and application support. Key responsibilities include overseeing the Banner User Account Lifecycle, which encompasses the setup, termination, review, and modification of user accounts. The role also involves the installation, upgrades, patching, and maintenance of the Oracle Database, including performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning. Additionally, the Oracle Database Administrator will be tasked with planning, installing, and maintaining the Banner software and its associated systems, ensuring that they are up-to-date and functioning optimally. The position requires collaboration with programmers and users to resolve application-related issues, as well as the implementation of security standards to protect sensitive data. Documentation of procedures is also a critical aspect of the role, ensuring that all processes are clearly outlined and accessible for future reference.
