About the position

Your combination of people skills and technical expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. As a Database Administrator and Developer specializing in Oracle with a strong understanding of AWS Cloud Services and cloud-based relational database services, you know how to manage and secure database technology. At Booz Allen, you can use those skills to improve the database technology supporting Department of Defense customers. On our team, you'll apply leading-edge principles and concepts to stand up a new database environment to support ingest of data files from authoritative systems for further analysis and will work closely with Cloud Engineers and Architects to develop a solution to operationalize several predictive models leveraging these data files. You'll provide your client with peace of mind as you work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You'll use technology and tools like Oracle, AWS RDS, and other cloud native technologies to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical database. In this role, you'll work as part of a team to realize time sensitive goals to provide mission enhancing impact. With your technical expertise, opportunities for mentoring, and introducing new solutions, we focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers. Work with us as we implement new technologies to improve the security of the Department of Defense workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and develop Oracle databases
  • Manage and secure database technology
  • Stand up a new database environment to support data ingestion
  • Work closely with Cloud Engineers and Architects
  • Operationalize predictive models leveraging data files
  • Identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in databases

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience administering and developing Oracle databases
  • Experience with Cloud and general technology
  • Knowledge of cloud native relational database technology, including AWS RDS
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Development
  • DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical Certification such as CompTIA Security+
  • Ability to obtain an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CCP) Certification within 60 days of start date

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Department of Defense clients
  • Knowledge of DoD Personnel Security mission area
  • Ability to work as part of an engineering team and support Risk Management Framework process to obtain an Authorization to Operate (ATO) for a new system implementation
