About the position

The Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems, specifically focusing on Oracle Database 19c, Oracle RAC, and Golden Gate. This role involves advanced performance tuning on complex processes within multi-terabyte databases, ensuring data integrity, and implementing security measures. The position is remote but candidates must be located within Texas, and it requires collaboration with a diverse team in a remote work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create production databases by entering codes.
  • Monitor database performance and make necessary adjustments.
  • Direct programmers and analysts to modify the database management system.
  • Review and correct database programs as needed.
  • Answer user questions and provide technical assistance.
  • Coordinate the use of data to ensure integrity and control redundancy.
  • Perform data modeling and prototyping.
  • Implement security recovery procedures and database search strategies.
  • Maintain the data dictionary and ensure uniformity of definitions.
  • Monitor database performance and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Create test database environments for applications.
  • Execute procedures for saving, retrieving, and recovering databases.
  • Assist with database software installation and analysis.
  • Benchmark and threshold test databases.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience with Oracle Database 12c or higher.
  • 8 years of experience with Oracle RAC.
  • 8 years of experience with Golden Gate.
  • 8 years of experience with advanced SQL.
  • 8 years of experience with shell scripting.
  • 8 years of experience supporting multi-terabyte databases.
  • 8 years of experience with advanced performance tuning.
  • Experience with Microsoft O365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Experience with MS Team and Channel communication.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 years of experience working with a public sector organization (Federal, State, or Local Government).
  • 2 years of experience with SharePoint.
  • 1 year of experience with Jira.
  • 1 year of experience working with the Scrum framework.
