About the position

The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) role involves supporting multiple services and databases, ensuring data integrity, control, and accessibility for concurrent users. The DBA is responsible for database maintenance, security administration, and physical data storage, performing backup and recovery, configuring database parameters, and managing database access. This position requires a strong background in Oracle databases and the ability to develop data solutions while liaising with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple services and databases from medium to highly complex.
  • Ensure integrity, control, and accessibility of data for multiple concurrent users.
  • Responsible for standards and design of database maintenance and security administration.
  • Perform backup and recovery of databases.
  • Configure database parameters and define data dictionaries, warehouse, and data repository requirements.
  • Manage database access and allocate/re-allocate database resources for optimum configuration, performance, and cost.
  • Act as a liaison with internal and external customers to develop data solutions.
  • Develop and create reports using various data sources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • 8-12+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA or equivalent experience using Oracle 11-12 versions.
  • Expert Level experience with Oracle Goldengate.
  • Expert Level experience with Oracle 12c upgrades with near zero downtime for multi-TB mission critical systems.
  • Expert Level experience with Oracle Data Guard and Active Data Guard.
  • Expert Level experience with Oracle database data center migrations.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Transparent Data Encryption and Oracle Data Masking.
  • 5-7 years of Linux/Unix technical scripting and utilities experience.
  • Excellent business knowledge and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong decision-making and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Desired experience with SAP based systems.
  • Desired experience with high performance system appliances such as HANA.
