About the position

The Oracle Database Administrator will play a crucial role in the Oracle Support Team at Jonas Software, contributing to customer implementations and providing technical support in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a dedicated professional who can manage multiple tasks and work independently while collaborating with team members to ensure high service levels for customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call support & troubleshoot and triage technical issues.
• Support application and development teams with deploying databases across various test environments.
• Test and install database software patches, CPU and PSU.
• Implement automation of various database processes and standards.
• Monitor database activity and health logs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database server performance.
• Perform backup and restores of all databases, using Oracle RMAN.
• Provide Oracle professional services to include the installation and configuration of Oracle databases on Windows and Linux platforms.

Requirements

• Requires formal Oracle certification such as Oracle Database Certified Associate or higher.
• Experience with Oracle databases 11g, 12c, 19c.
• Strong PC and system navigation skills, specifically in Windows and Linux environments.
• Previous customer service or support and/or basic technical experience recommended.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required.
• Experience working with a team of motivated professionals, with emphasis on providing the customer with the highest service levels.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic knowledge of foodservice and/or retail sales related information is helpful.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and set priorities within time constraints.
• Courteous and professional phone manner, demeanor and attitude are essential.
