The Oracle Database Administrator position at Auburn University is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals looking for a stable work environment that promotes work/life balance. This role primarily involves the administration of Ellucian Banner and related applications, focusing on Oracle database and application server administration tasks. Key responsibilities include performing backup, recovery, installation, and maintenance of database software, as well as supporting associated applications. The ideal candidate should have intermediate Linux skills, preferably with experience in Redhat, to effectively manage the database environment. In this role, you will be responsible for administering databases through a pre-established security request and approval framework. You will perform code migrations via an approved migration process and review application developer code when migration issues arise, identifying errant code or deviations from established Auburn conventions. Additionally, you will engage in complex scripting, analysis, and troubleshooting of existing scripts, as well as writing scripts to automate server and database operations. Your duties will also include installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining both production and non-production databases, performing all standard database maintenance tasks independently.
