About the position

The Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and securing Oracle database software for a government client, the State of Florida. This role requires advanced knowledge in database administration, including both front-end and back-end tools, and involves ensuring database performance, security, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain Oracle database (Oracle 19C and Oracle Cloud) software.
• Identify and test database software updates, patches, and Oracle service packs.
• Create storage database structures with high-level security features.
• Set up database user accounts.
• Implement backup and recovery plans to protect the database against data loss.
• Participate in design and planning of database and related database objects.
• Minimize database downtime and manage parameters for fast query responses.
• Develop automation scripts for routine tasks.
• Perform tests and evaluations to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
• Maintain database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems.
• Write technical procedures and documents.

Requirements

• Advanced level experience in Oracle Database administration.
• Extensive experience with DBA front-end and back-end tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle database management.
