The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) position is a critical role within our team, focusing on the management and optimization of Oracle databases. This role requires a seasoned professional with over 8 years of experience in Oracle DBA responsibilities, including performance tuning, testing, and a strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery solutions. The DBA will work in a hybrid environment, spending 2-3 days onsite per week in Charlotte, NC, and will be compensated at a rate of approximately $65 per hour. As part of the team, the Oracle DBA will be involved in various new projects, necessitating additional support to ensure the successful execution of these initiatives. The responsibilities encompass all aspects of database design, including designing for replication, performance monitoring and tuning, backup and recovery processes, scripting, software installation and upgrades, troubleshooting, and the proactive maintenance of production databases that utilize multiple master replication with Oracle Golden Gate. Collaboration is key in this role, as the DBA will partner with other operations teams to maximize the availability of current and planned systems. The position also involves administering database users and ensuring database security in compliance with mandatory enterprise-wide guidelines. Additionally, the DBA will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation of all production policies, procedures, server configurations, error logs, maintenance records, and troubleshooting instructions. Identifying, troubleshooting, resolving, and effectively communicating issues that impact systems, servers, and database-related products will also be a significant part of the role.
