About the position

The Oracle Database Administrator position is a full-time role based in either Charlotte, NC or Chicago, IL, requiring onsite presence. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Information Technology, specifically in Oracle Database Administration. This role involves managing and maintaining Oracle databases, ensuring their performance, security, and availability. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing Oracle Exadata systems, utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and performance tuning, and working with Oracle Golden Gate for data replication and integration. Additionally, the role requires proficiency in Linux shell scripting to automate database tasks and enhance operational efficiency. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate a strong understanding of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, ensuring that the database systems are resilient and can recover quickly from failures. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for collaborating with team members and stakeholders. Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Implement and administer Oracle Exadata systems.
• Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and performance tuning of databases.
• Work with Oracle Golden Gate for data replication and integration tasks.
• Develop and execute Linux shell scripts to automate database management tasks.
• Ensure High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions are in place and functioning effectively.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to address database-related issues and requirements.

Requirements

• At least 4+ years of relevant Information Technology experience.
• Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent; work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in Oracle Database Administration.
• Experience with Oracle Exadata Administration.
• Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Experience with Oracle Golden Gate.
• Strong Linux shell scripting skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• In-depth understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery requirements and solutions.
