About the position

The Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and optimizing Oracle databases for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This role requires an active U.S. Government SECRET Clearance and involves providing technical guidance on business processes and systems. The administrator will work closely with project teams to ensure the effective application of database technologies in alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize Oracle databases for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
• Provide technical guidance concerning the business implications of various systems.
• Support on-site meetings at Fort Belvoir, VA as needed.
• Perform database administration tasks on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows environments.
• Implement Oracle security management and apply Critical Patch Updates.
• Conduct performance tuning, backup/recovery scenarios, and ensure data integrity.
• Develop and document logical and physical data models for Oracle instances using tools like Erwin.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure compliance with Section 508 standards.

Requirements

• Must have an ACTIVE U.S. Government SECRET Clearance.
• Must have an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Certification.
• Must have one of the following certifications: AWS CDB Specialty, AWS CSA Associate, AWS CSA Professional, AWS CS Specialty, AWS CSO Admin Associate, IBM DB2, IBM DB2 for LUW, IBM SD RPT, MCA: DS, MCA: SQL Server, MC: Azure DBAA, MC: Azure SEA, MC: Azure SAE, MCM: SQL Server 2008, MCM: Server 2008R2, MCSA: SQL 2016 DBA, MCSE: WS2012, MCSE: WS2016, OCP DB, OCP SA, OCI Foundations 2020.
• 3+ years of DLA Financial Website experience.
• 3+ years of DLA Audit Readiness & Reconciliation experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, and C#.
• Proficient in Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL, and data access optimization.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with Source Control tools such as GIT.
• Working knowledge and experience with Visual Basic, Oracle PL/SQL, Java, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
