About the position

The Oracle Database Administrator contractor position is part of the Administrative Applications Production Data Services team, focusing on the development and implementation of modifications and enhancements to the Financial Data Warehouse. The role involves advanced database development tasks for complex data models, workflows, and reports, primarily working with Oracle databases. Responsibilities include optimizing database performance, creating new logical and physical data models, and developing PL/SQL code and Linux shell scripts to support the Financial Data Warehouse application.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced database development tasks for Oracle databases.
• Optimize database performance during and after migration.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Implement monitoring solutions to track database health and performance metrics.
• Develop new views, tables, and PL/SQL code for the Financial Data Warehouse application.
• Design, develop, and test new tables, views, PL/SQL stored procedures, and functions.
• Develop and test Linux shell scripts to invoke database calls.
• Develop and test scheduled jobs and shell scripts.
• Perform performance tuning of new and existing tables, views, and PL/SQL code.
• Create and maintain logical and physical data models.

Requirements

• 6 years of experience in Oracle database design, analysis, and performance tuning.
• 6 years of experience in Oracle database structures and data analysis.
• 6 years of experience designing enterprise applications and/or services.
• 6 years of experience creating technical and functional design documentation.
• 6 years of experience within the software development lifecycle using Agile methodology (Scrum).
• 6 years of experience with multi-tier system/application development (SOA, Microservices, 3-Tier applications).

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of Jira experience.
• 1 year of Oracle Certification.
• 1 year of experience with data warehouse applications and/or database reporting features.
