About the position

The Oracle Database Architect position is a contractor role within the Administrative Applications Production Data Services team, focusing on the development and enhancement of the Financial Data Warehouse. The role involves advanced database development tasks, including performance optimization, database health monitoring, and the creation of new data models and PL/SQL code. The candidate will work closely with the team to ensure the integrity and efficiency of Oracle databases used in complex applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement modifications and enhancements to the Financial Data Warehouse.
• Perform advanced database development tasks for complex data models, workflows, and reports.
• Create new logical and physical data models as required.
• Optimize database performance during and after migration, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
• Implement monitoring solutions to track database health and performance metrics.
• Develop new views, tables, and PL/SQL code for the Financial Data Warehouse application.
• Design, develop, and test new tables, views, PL/SQL stored procedures, and functions.
• Develop and test Linux shell scripts to invoke database calls and scheduled jobs.
• Perform performance tuning of new and existing tables, views, and PL/SQL code.
• Collaborate with the team to create and maintain logical and physical data models, focusing on Oracle.

Requirements

• 6 years of experience in Oracle database design, analysis, and performance tuning.
• 6 years of experience in Oracle database structures and data analysis.
• 6 years of experience designing enterprise applications and/or services.
• 6 years of experience creating technical and functional design documentation.
• 6 years of experience within the software development lifecycle using Agile methodology (e.g., Scrum).
• 6 years of experience with multi-tier system/application development (e.g., SOA, Microservices, 3-Tier applications).

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of Jira experience.
• 1 year of Oracle Certification.
• 1 year of experience with data warehouse applications.
