About the position

Professional Solutions Delivered, LLC (ProSoDel) is a total solutions provider for government and commercial customers in the areas of Program Management, Logistics, Organizational Change Management, Communications, Training, and Information Technology (IT) Support Services. We are currently seeking an Oracle Database Architect to join our team of professionals in support of the Oracle/Linux Opportunity. The Oracle Database Architect will play a critical role in coordinating with the Project Manager, customer, and Oracle to obtain un-distributed (retired) release patches for RHEL 7 & 8. This position is responsible for migrating approximately 75 Oracle Databases on RHEL 6 to Oracle Enterprise 8 before migration to Oracle, aiming to reduce operational impact. Additionally, the architect will oversee the migration of around 25-30 web applications from RHEL 7 to Oracle Enterprise 8, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to services. The role requires the architect to develop and direct a cohesive strategy for Oracle database architecture across the organization, ensuring alignment with customer goals and innovation initiatives. This includes leading the evaluation and strategic integration of emerging database technologies to keep the organization’s data management practices ahead of industry trends. The architect will design advanced, reliable, and scalable database architectures that address complex business requirements while optimizing performance and ensuring data security and compliance. Furthermore, the architect will oversee the implementation of new database architectures, working closely with database administrators and IT project teams to ensure successful execution. In addition to these responsibilities, the Oracle Database Architect will lead efforts in performance tuning, query optimization, and system scaling to ensure the database infrastructure operates efficiently under varying loads. The architect will implement advanced techniques for data partitioning, indexing, and the application of Oracle optimization tools, as well as architect solutions for high availability and disaster recovery in an Oracle Enterprise environment. This includes planning and testing disaster recovery procedures to guarantee business continuity under all circumstances. The architect will also establish encryption, auditing, and access control strategies to protect data integrity and lead the development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models that accurately reflect business data needs. The role involves guiding the integration of Oracle databases with other data sources and applications across the enterprise, ensuring seamless data flows and consistency. The architect will conduct advanced capacity planning to accurately forecast future database needs and ensure scalability to meet growth and performance targets. Additionally, the architect will implement strategies for database sharding, cloud expansion, and resource optimization, serving as a mentor to database architects and administrators while promoting best practices and continuous learning. The position requires leading cross-functional teams in the successful execution of database projects, fostering collaboration and innovation, and evaluating and recommending database tools, software, and services while overseeing vendor selection and contract negotiations. Staying abreast of developments in Oracle technologies and broader database management fields is essential, as is developing comprehensive documentation for database architectures, policies, and procedures. The architect will engage with senior management and stakeholders to align database strategies with business objectives, communicate complex concepts in understandable terms, and participate in strategic planning sessions, offering insights on database technologies and data management trends. Finally, the architect will lead research into novel database techniques and technologies that can offer competitive advantages or operational improvements and spearhead pilot projects to assess the potential impact and feasibility of new database solutions.
