About the position

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States. The position serves as the Lead BI developer within Platform Services, focusing on the development of reports in support of Infrastructure-related projects and programs. The role is crucial in delivering strategic insights into business systems through complex analysis, reporting, and operational activities. As a technical expert on system usage and performance, the developer will determine business requirements and implement appropriate specifications while monitoring for compliance and effectiveness. Additionally, the position involves assisting in identifying and resolving process issues, which may include system testing or development. The Lead BI developer may also oversee the work of less experienced analysts in the work group, ensuring that the team meets its objectives effectively. The responsibilities include developing and maintaining custom Power BI reports, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations. The developer will create Oracle database objects such as tables, indexes, views, and functions to load large data sets. They will also develop Unix shell and SQL Loader scripts to load data into an Oracle reporting database and work collaboratively with various teams to secure the data required for reports. This role requires a blend of technical and non-technical skills, including strong communication abilities and experience in regulated industries such as Financial Services or Pharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining custom Power BI reports, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations
  • Creating Oracle database objects (tables, indexes, views, functions, etc.) to load large data sets
  • Developing Unix shell and SQL Loader scripts to load data into an Oracle reporting database
  • Working with various teams to secure data required for reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Systems Support, Analytics, or Operations Support OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Systems Support, Analytics, or Operations Support
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience writing technical documents
  • Experience with working in regulated industries (Financial Services or Pharmaceutical industry)
  • Power BI development (file, Oracle, and point list sources)
  • Experienced with developing/creating Service Now reports
  • Experienced loading data into Oracle with SQL Loader
  • Unix Shell scripting
  • SQL programming
  • Control-M automated scheduler
  • MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note)
