About the position

The Oracle Database Developer at STChealth is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of Oracle databases. This role involves designing database objects, developing stored procedures and scripts, and participating in Agile processes to enhance database functionality and resolve client issues. The position requires collaboration with team members and active participation in maintenance calls and sprint planning.

Responsibilities

  • Design tables, views, and other database objects for new functionality.
  • Develop Oracle stored procedures, packages, functions, and triggers using PL/SQL.
  • Create scripts using SQL and PL/SQL for data modification and reporting.
  • Participate in maintenance calls to resolve database issues and perform updates or patches.
  • Contribute to Agile processes through participation in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Support client DBA activities including performance tuning and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • 4 or more years of Oracle database development experience.
  • Experience with software development life cycles and database development and design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex database issues.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting, performance tuning, and database design principles.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience in a sprint-based environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work well in a team and under tight time constraints.

Nice-to-haves
