Responsibilities

  • Design and implement efficient database structures and schemas to support application functionality
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting
  • Write SQL queries to extract and manipulate data
  • Test databases and identify and fix issues related to performance, security, or data integrity
  • Research, design, document, and modify software specifications
  • Analyze the company's data needs and assist in data migration and transformation projects
  • Collaborate with IT teams and business users to understand business needs and translate them into implementation
  • Develop security processes for database management
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database schemas, procedures, and best practices
  • Verify that all database programs adhere to organizational performance standards
  • Assess the effectiveness and performance of database systems and applications

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience working in Oracle and DB2 Databases
  • Proven work experience as a Database developer
  • In-depth understanding of data management including data discovery, analysis, transformation, quality, security, and monitoring
  • Proficiency in SQL Tuning techniques to prevent performance degradation
  • Knowledge of software development and Agile delivery methodology
  • Proficiency in working with specific databases like DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server
  • Working knowledge of ETL processes and tools (e.g., Informatica)
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Understanding the needs of front-end users and having a problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with cloud database solutions
