About the position

Professional Solutions Delivered, LLC (ProSoDel) is a total solutions provider for government and commercial customers in the areas of Program Management, Logistics, Organizational Change Management, Communications, Training, and Information Technology (IT) Support Services. We are currently seeking an Oracle Database Specialist to join our team of professionals in support of the Oracle/Linux Opportunity. This role is critical in ensuring the performance, security, and integrity of our database systems, which are essential for our operations. As an Oracle Database Specialist, you will be responsible for performing database and application regression testing on approximately 75 databases and 25-30 applications. You will implement DISA STIGs for around 100 Oracle Enterprise 8 instances, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for data safety and privacy. Your expertise will be vital in designing and implementing complex database architectures that prioritize high availability and performance. You will assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases in collaboration with data owners and department managers. This includes installing and configuring new Oracle Database instances, planning and executing upgrades and migrations, and monitoring database performance to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements. Tuning SQL queries and database parameters to optimize performance will be a key part of your responsibilities, along with defining and implementing robust backup and recovery procedures. In addition, you will manage schema changes, data migration, and transformation scripts, ensuring data integrity and quality across the database systems. Providing expert troubleshooting for complex database issues and offering technical support and guidance to development teams will be essential. You will also analyze and predict future database resource requirements and scale database operations to meet growing business needs. Your role will involve developing and maintaining scripts to automate common database administration tasks, documenting the database setup and architecture, and maintaining updated documentation for the data models and dictionary. You will provide expertise and training to junior database administrators and other technical staff, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops. Collaboration with IT project managers and business analysts on project planning, delivery, and execution will be necessary, as well as effective communication with the Program Manager to ensure database capabilities and potential issues are made known. Staying up-to-date with the latest Oracle technologies and best practices, and evaluating and recommending new database technologies, tools, and features will also be part of your responsibilities.
