Professional Solutions Delivered, LLC (ProSoDel) is seeking an Oracle Database Specialist to join our team in Norfolk, VA. This role is crucial for supporting our Oracle/Linux Opportunity, where you will be responsible for a variety of essential duties related to database management and application support. You will perform database and application regression testing on approximately 75 databases and 25-30 applications, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally and securely. Your expertise will be vital in implementing DISA STIGs for around 100 Oracle Enterprise 8 instances, which is critical for maintaining compliance and security standards. In this position, you will design and implement complex database architectures that prioritize high availability and performance. You will assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases in collaboration with data owners and department managers. Your responsibilities will also include installing and configuring new Oracle Database instances, planning and executing upgrades and migrations, and monitoring database performance to identify bottlenecks and implement necessary improvements. You will be tasked with tuning SQL queries and database parameters to optimize performance, defining and implementing robust backup and recovery procedures, and automating regular backups, recoveries, and data refreshes as required. Security is a top priority, and you will implement and maintain database security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for data safety and privacy. As an Oracle Database Specialist, you will manage schema changes, data migration, and transformation scripts, ensuring data integrity and quality across the database systems. You will provide expert troubleshooting for complex database issues and offer technical support and guidance to development teams. Additionally, you will analyze and predict future database resource requirements and scale database operations to meet growing business needs. Your role will also involve developing and maintaining scripts to automate common database administration tasks, documenting the database setup and architecture, and maintaining updated documentation for data models and dictionaries. You will provide expertise and training to junior database administrators and other technical staff, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops. Collaboration with IT project managers and business analysts will be essential for project planning, delivery, and execution, and you will communicate effectively with the Program Manager to ensure database capabilities and potential issues are addressed. Staying up-to-date with the latest Oracle technologies and best practices will be crucial, as will evaluating and recommending new database technologies, tools, and features. This position may also involve performing related work as assigned.
