About the position

The Database Administrator is responsible for the technical implementation, execution, control, and completion of assigned DBA tasks, focusing on the support and maintenance of large multi-terabyte Oracle 19c databases in both production and non-production environments. This role also involves collaborating with development staff to optimize query configurations and enhance performance tuning.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain large multi-terabyte Oracle 19c databases in production and non-production environments.
  • Collaborate with development staff to ensure optimal query configuration and response time for performance tuning.
  • Execute and control assigned DBA tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Gather and compile data necessary for analyzing various database products.
  • Evaluate data to identify problems, issues, and gaps quickly.
  • Recommend solutions to improve database performance.
  • Manage routine operations and maintenance of databases to ensure reliable performance.
  • Document processes and procedures thoroughly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in Oracle development and production database administration.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Oracle 19c.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Oracle upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced knowledge in database modeling and creating data marts.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Oracle DR solutions such as Data Guard, Oracle RAC, and ASM.
  • Experience with performance tuning tools like AWR, ADDM, and ASH.
  • Knowledge of Grid Control (19c) Management, Data Warehouse, Partitioning, Security, and Multi-tenant environments.
  • Familiarity with Streams, Networking, and Compression.
  • Experience with monitoring and administration tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager.
  • Proficiency in database tools such as Toad and SQL*Developer.
  • Knowledge of AWS tools such as DMS, RedShift, Aurora, and Amazon RDS.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server 16 and above.
