About the position

The Oracle DBA Developer position at T and T Consulting Services Inc. is a full-time role focused on the development and management of an Oracle-based SEDAR Data Repository/Warehouse. This project is part of the Southeast Data, Assessment, and Review (SEDAR) initiative, which aims to create a modern and efficient system for data providers to submit datasets while ensuring compliance through rigorous validation checks. The repository will serve as a centralized platform for data integration and validation, facilitating updates from authoritative data sources and supporting various surveys and state agencies across the Southeastern U.S. Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean regions. The overarching goal of the project is to reduce compilation efforts and errors, enhance data accessibility, and maintain data security. As an Oracle DBA Developer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the data warehouse, ensuring that it meets the needs of stakeholders while adhering to best practices in database design and architecture. You will work closely with various teams to streamline data compilation processes and continuously improve the system to uphold data quality and security. Your role will also involve troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to the SEDAR Data Repository, making your expertise in Oracle database management crucial to the project's success.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement an Oracle-based SEDAR Data Repository/Warehouse for Southeast Data, Assessment, and Review (SEDAR).
• Enable data providers to submit datasets with assurance of data compliance through validation checks.
• Develop an Oracle Data Warehouse, focusing on design and implementation.
• Utilize strong Oracle database design, architecture, and reporting skills to develop views and other necessary components.
• Build Data Warehouses and enable data for public distribution effectively.
• Create a system to extract updates from various authoritative data sources, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders from Southeastern U.S. Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean regions to streamline data compilation and reduce errors.
• Continuously improve the system to ensure data security, quality, and accessibility.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the SEDAR Data Repository.

Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and implementing Oracle-based data warehouses or repositories.
• Strong understanding of data validation techniques and data compliance principles.
• Experience with data integration, data extraction, and data transformation tools.
• Familiarity with fisheries data and data management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Eight+ years of experience.
